Top 10 for Venture Capital Funding

The Greater Philadelphia metro area ranks in the top 10 most active regions in the US for venture funding in 2019, with VC funding in health care more than doubling over the past 4 years.

Our innovation agenda seeks to leverage our region’s strengths to build a vibrant economy that supports research and development, commercialization, and entrepreneurship which will position Greater Philadelphia for accelerated company and job growth. The CEO Council actively advocates for a competitive business environment. Reforms to the tax and regulatory codes must improve – not hinder – our global competitiveness. Simplicity and certainty will enable the region’s employers to make sound long-term business decisions.

Cell & Gene Therapy and Connected Health Initiative

Our mobility agenda seeks to improve our region’s physical connectivity through the advancement of infrastructure improvements and reforms that will ensure a modern, multimodal transportation system. To accommodate and accelerate the region’s outstanding development, the CEO Council advocates for critical infrastructure investments that expand use of our multimodal nodes, highways, bridges, transit, ports, inter-city passenger rail, and international airport. The infrastructure assets  that connect us to the rest of the region, nation, and world must serve as world-class gateways and function as a competitive advantage for our region.

Business Traveler Experience

The CEO Council is working to enhance the experience and expand connectivity at the Philadelphia International Airport by engaging business travelers and consolidating this unique audience feedback.

Less Congestion than Peer Cities

Greater Philadelphia ranks low in both yearly delay per auto commuter, at just 62 hours compared to Atlanta’s 77 hours, as well as low congestion cost in comparison to fellow urban areas with over 3 million in population.

Created to explore cooperative opportunities among the region’s many degree-granting institutions, the President’s Alliance is comprised of higher education leaders who commit their time and efforts to enhancing the talent in Greater Philadelphia.
