Philadelphia Regional Recharge and Recovery Task Force Prioritizes Cell and Gene Therapy Sector in Recommendations Report
Prioritizing the cell and gene therapy sector is a key focus of the Philadelphia Regional Recharge and Recovery Task Force.
The Philadelphia Metro area is ranked number six among top life sciences clusters in the U.S. in the JLL 2020 U.S. Life Sciences Outlook, which was released on July 28. The placement for the region is an increase over the 2019 report, which listed Philadelphia at number eight. JLL, a leading professional services firm that specializes in real estate and investment management, profiles the nation’s top life sciences hubs in the annual report, and tracks progress of up-and-coming life sciences markets. In the Philadelphia Metro Area’s profile, JLL noted new peaks in venture capital funding and life sciences employment.

Study Projects Future Workforce Talent Needs for Cell & Gene Therapy Sector and Benchmarks Connected Health Sector in Greater Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (May 13, 2020) – An independent study to analyze the current workforce landscape and assess the future talent needs of the Greater Philadelphia region’s cell and gene therapy and connected health sectors has found that this workforce is expected to grow between 35 percent to 94 percent in the next 10 years using mid-range growth estimates. The growth could be as much as 54 percent to 136 percent using high-range growth estimates.
