The Cell & Gene Therapy and Connected Health Initiative has proven highly adept at leveraging social media to engage target audiences, consistently exceeding industry performance on LinkedIn and Twitter with timely content that reinforces key messages about the talent, research, results, and momentum behind the Greater Philadelphia region’s thriving cell therapy, gene therapy, and gene editing sectors.
An engagement rate of 0.46% is considered to be standard/good for Twitter and 0.5% to 1% to be great/high. The Initiative’s engagement rate has been 1.5% or higher every quarter for the last five. For LinkedIn, an engagement rate of 2% is considered standard/good and figures above that are considered great/high. The Initiative’s engagement rates have ranged between 6.5% and 8.2% during those same five quarters.
The high engagement rates are due in part to the popularity of the “Discovery Starts with Me” video series that launched in August. The one-minute videos feature individuals, “Talent Ambassadors,” working in regional cell and gene therapy companies. The video profiles showcase how Greater Philadelphia’s accessibility, affordability, and livability, and are attracting attention organically and, in some instances, bolstered through paid campaigns.
Key attributes of the videos include the diversity of talent, and segments filmed by the Ambassadors themselves, showing how they live and work in a region supportive of their career ambitions as well as their personal interests. The video stories show the individuals both inside and outside of the workplace, reinforcing how working in the region complements their personal and social lives.
The third video in the series, released this week, features Mohamed Aziz of Passage Bio. Organizations to be featured in the coming months, at a pace of roughly one every three weeks, include Adaptimmune, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, ChristianaCare, and Spark Therapeutics.
Looking ahead, the Initiative seeks to continue to build followership and strengthen engagement through meaningful and timely content and involve, even more actively, partners, stakeholders, and influencers. To that end we encourage you to join us by following @CEOCouncilPHL and CEOCouncilPHL and sharing the videos and other content with your network.
