“Talent. Research. Results.”
Those are the messages the CEO Council for Growth, Select Greater Philadelphia, and our partners will take on the road in the coming year as we work to promote the Greater Philadelphia region as a leading global epicenter for cell and gene therapy, gene editing, and connected health. On the heels of Philadelphia’s successful hosting of the 2019 BIO International Convention in June, plans are already underway to build on the momentum established by the regional host committee during the many tours, presentations, gatherings and events that highlighted our assets to the industry professionals and media who attended the convention.
Looking forward, the committee, consisting of academic, business, and civic organizations from the 11-county region of Northern Delaware, Southern New Jersey, and Southeastern Pennsylvania, is collaboratively preparing proposals for sessions that would continue to highlight our region during BIO 2020, which will be held from June 8-11, 2020 in San Diego. The committee’s focus is on communicating the research, commercialization and treatment advances that are continually emerging from our region’s cell & gene therapy and connected health community.
In addition to BIO 2020, there is a large number of other conferences where news of the Greater Philadelphia region’s leadership role can be shared. Leadership from many of the investors in the Cell & Gene Therapy and Connected Health Initiative will be speaking or otherwise participating in some of the industry’s most prestigious conferences, including the HLTH health innovation conference in Las Vegas next month, the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference in San Francisco in January, South by Southwest in Austin in March, and the Health Evolution Summit in Southern California in April. CPhl Worldwide in Frankfurt in November and the Immuno-Oncology 360° show in New York City in February are just two of the conferences where Select Greater Philadelphia and the Cell & Gene Therapy and Connected Health Initiative team will have a presence.
To support these meetings, the CEO Council has shared resources that can be used by partners as they participate in these events. Tools include PowerPoint slide templates featuring data supporting the talent, research, results messaging and links to two videos that spotlight industry leaders. The slide templates and videos can be found in the Cell & Gene Therapy and Connected Health toolkit.
Finally, the CEO Council and Select Greater Philadelphia are planning a media tour this fall to share stories with international and national journalists based in New York City. Future media tours are in the works as well. Several media heard about our region’s talent, research and results during BIO 2019, and these media visits continue that work.
