On April 9th,  the CEO Council for Growth and the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce were at the Stand Up for Transportation Rally at Dilworth Park.

CEO Council Member and GPCC Board Member Tom Caramanico served as the emcee of the rally, which was held to demonstrate broad support for a long term transportation bill from Congress. Other notable speakers included Congressman Bill Shuster, Chairman of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, PennDOT Secretary Leslie Richards, former Governor Ed Rendell, CEO Council Member and GPCC Board Member Jerry Sweeney and Philadelphia AFL-CIO Pat Eiding. A number of other elected officials also spoke and were in attendance.

A major highlight of the rally was when Congressman Shuster said that Congress will pass a long term bill this year.

On April 8, the Inquirer published a letter to the editor advocating for more federal investment in our highways, bridges and transit systems. The signees were CEO Council Chairman and  GPCC President and CEO Rob Wonderling,  SEPTA Chairman Pat Deon, Philadelphia AFL-CIO President Pat Eiding and Philadelphia Regional Port Authority Chairman Jerry Sweeney.
